Lok Satta party’s State president Bhisetti Babji on Friday urged the government to announce financial assistance for farmers as they had incurred huge losses owing to the damage to standing crops and paddy stored in fields.
He interacted with farmers and listened to their grievances in Vizianagaram, Denkada, and Bhogapuram mandals.
He said that farmers could not transport paddy to rice mills due to incessant rain. He urged the government to buy the stored paddy immediately to avoid further damage. “We request the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to send a team of officials to Vizianagaram district to study the grievances of farmers. ‘‘We seek relief for farmers of horticulture crops also,” he added.
