A day after she was caught by Lokayukta Police while receiving bribe online, Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) Preeti Raj attached to Kaulaga (B) Gram Panchayat in Kalaburagi taluk was suspended on Tuesday.
Chief Executive Officer of Kalaburagi Zilla Panchayat Bhanwar Singh Meena issued an order keeping the errant officer under suspension pending inquiry.
A team of Lokayukta Police caught the PDO red-handed while she was receiving ₹17,000 bribe amount through online transaction at her residence in Dariyapur Layout on the outskirts of the city on Monday morning.
She was booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The suspension order issued under the Karnataka Civil Service (Classification Control and Appeal) Rules 1957 stated that the officer shall not leave her headquarters without prior permission from a competent authority.
