Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday (January 5, 2025) launched the Abua Budget Portal and Mobile App to seek suggestions/opinions/ideas of the general public regarding the budget preparation for the financial year 2025-26.
Mr. Soren said the government had a special attention on budget preparation that promoted the interests of the general public along with the sustainable, inclusive and all-round development of the State.
He launched the portal and mobile app in the presence of Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore and Urban Development Minister Sudivya Kumar.

Mr. Soren said, “This is the Abua government in which our government has a special focus on having a balanced budget that promotes the welfare and interests of the people. General public suggestions, opinions and ideas on the budget of the financial year 2025-26 matter a lot to us, so that the better suggestions received can be given place in the coming financial year 2025-26,” Mr. Soren said.
He said special care should be taken of the economy with rural background. Along with this, provisions related to taking concrete steps towards revenue collection should also be given place in the budget so that the schemes related to development and public welfare could be implemented in a better way.
Suggestions/opinions and ideas received would be incorporated into the budget in accordance with the development of the State and the people.
Three people who give the best suggestions will be honoured by the State Government. The last date for giving suggestions was January 17, 2025.
Revenue collection
Soon after forming the new government, Mr. Soren on December 2, 2024 held a high-level meeting with the Principal Secretary and secretaries of various departments and instructed them to accelerate revenue collection and also explore possibilities for new sources of additional revenue collection.
He had directed all departments to prepare an action plan to increase revenue collection. The instruction was given keeping the INDIA bloc seven guarantees promised during the election because funds are needed to fulfil them.
Some of the guarantees are provision of ₹2,500 under the Maiya Samman Scheme from December 2024 which has now shifted to January 2025, LPG cylinders at ₹450 per family and the ration quantity to be increased to seven kg per person. Employment to 10 lakh youth, family health cover up to ₹15 lakh. MSP of rice to be increased from ₹2,400 to ₹3,200 along with 50% increase in rates of other crops.
The budget for 2024-2025 was presented in the Jharkhand Assembly in February 2024.
