Haj fare normalisation top priority, says Haj panel chief

Haj Committee Chairman Husain Saqafi has said that he will make all interventions possible to normalise the Haj fares from different destinations in Kerala. At present, a heavier fare is reportedly being levied from Hajis going to Makkah from the Calicut International Airport.

Inaugurating a prayer conference at Madin Academy here on Thursday night (December 26), Mr. Saqafi said that it was unfair to charge different fares to pilgrims going to Makkah from Kochi, Kannur, and Kozhikode. He said it would be among his priorities to get the anomaly addressed.

Madin Academy chairman Syed Ibrahim Khaleel Bukhari led the prayer.
