To mark World Oral Health Day, Medicover Hospitals Hyderabad, in collaboration with Ashri Society, organised a free dental check-up camp for orphaned children on Thursday, March 20.
Dr. C. Sharath Babu, Consultant Prosthodontist and Implantologist at Medicover Hospitals, highlighted the significance of World Oral Health Day, observed annually on March 20 to raise awareness about oral hygiene and its impact on overall health. He pointed out that nearly 90% of people worldwide experience oral diseases at some point in their lives, most of which are preventable with proper care.
During the camp, Dr. Sharath Babu shared essential oral hygiene tips, advising children to brush twice a day, rinse their mouths after meals, and undergo dental check-ups every six months to prevent potential issues. He also cautioned against excessive consumption of sugary foods like chocolates and chips, which can contribute to tooth decay, especially in children.
