Fire mishap at Sattva Elixir building in Hyderabad due to gas leak: Telangana Fire Services DG

The fire at the Sattva Elixir building in Knowledge City, Madhapur on December 21, 2024 was caused by a gas leakage, said director general of Telangana State Disaster Response and Fire Services, Y. Nagi Reddy.

The fire broke out on December 21 in the amenities block of the Sattva Elixir building within Knowledge City, HITEC City. The incident was reported at 6:12 a.m., prompting a response from the Fire Services Department. The building, which has five floors and a ground level, houses several restaurants and a resto bar, with the fifth floor occupied by a gym.

During the annual round up of the fire department held in Hyderabad on Monday (December 30, 2024), the official explained that the fire mishap on the fifth floor of the Sattva building resulted from a gas leak in the restaurant. “The leakage triggered a short circuit due to power fluctuations, which led to the fire,” he said.
