East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced the extension of special trains, being operated between Visakhapatnam and Chennai Egmore, Visakhapatnam and Shalimar, and between Sambalpur – Erode and between Bhubaneswar and Yesvantpur (Bengaluru) to cater to the extra rush of passengers during the Christmas and Sankranti festival season.
Train no. 08557 Visakhapatnam-Chennai Egmore will leave Visakhapatnam at 7 p.m. on Saturdays from December 7 to March 1, 2025 to reach Chennai Egmore the next day at 8.45 a.m.
In the return direction, the 08558 Chennai Egmore -Visakhapatnam special will leave Chennai Egmore at 10.30 a.m. on Sundays from December 8 to March 2, 2025 to arrive in Visakhapatnam on the next day at 10.35 p.m.
This train will have stoppages at Duvvada, Anakapalli, Elamanchili, Tuni, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Ongole, Nellore and Gudur
Train no. 08508 Visakhapatnam – Shalimar special express will leave Visakhapatnam at 11.20 a.m. on Tuesdays from Dec 10 to March 4, 2025 to reach Shalimar on the next day at 3 a.m. This train will also have halts at Simhachalam, Vizianagaram, Chipurupalli and Srikakulam Road stations.
In the return direction, 08507 Shalimar – Visakhapatnam special express will leave Shalimar at 5 a.m. on Wednesdays from December 11 to March 5 to reach Visakhapatnam at 8.50 p.m.
This train will also have halts at Simhachalam, Vizianagaram, Chipurupalli and Srikakulam Road stations.
