The Andhra State Carrom Association and SPSR Nellore District Carrom Association have announced that the 29th All India Federation Cup Carrom Tournament-2025 would be held from January 5 to 8 in Nellore.
The event, organised by the All India Carrom Federation(AICF) and being hosted by the Andhra State Carrom Association, will see participation of teams with 400 players from 25 States and 10 institutions. Each team will comprise four men and four women players, said the association general secretary Sk. Abdul Jaleel.
Some of those who will be participating in the games are national carrom champions K. Srinivas from Telangana and Rashmi Kumari from New Delhi. Mr. Srinivas, also a world champion, will compete alongside M. Khazima from Tamil Nadu, who recently clinched the women’s singles title at the 6th Carrom World Cup in the U.S.
The other accomplished members of the Indian team from the World Cup will also participate in this tournament. From Andhra Pradesh, notable players include Ch. Janardhan Reddy (Men) and M.S.K. Harika (Women).
The players will represent different institutions, including Petroleum Sports Promotion Board, LIC, BSNL, Reserve Bank of India, Income Tax and Defence departments, among others.
The tournament will comprise four events, Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles and Women’s Doubles, following a knockout format. As a ranking tournament of the AICF, the points earned here are crucial for the selection of the Indian national team, Mr. Abdul Jaleel said.
He added that Josef Meyer, International Carrom Federation president, will also be present on the occasion. All key matches will be streamed live by SYNCO, the equipment manufacturer.
