18-mont-old boy drowns in drain

A 18-month-old boy of Sethubhavachatram was reportedly drowned in flood water in an open drain channel on Saturday.

According to sources, Dharanesh, who was playing near his house in the afternoon on Saturday reportedly slipped into the channel filled with rainwater and drowned. His mother Monisha, who was engaged in household activities at the time, searched for him and finally found him in the channel.

Subsequently, he was rushed to the Government Hospital at Peravurani where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
