₹41 crore sanctioned for Guntur Bridge, completion in 3.5 years: Union Minister Pemmassani Chandra Sekhar

Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Pemmassani Chandra Sekhar, announced a comprehensive plan to complete key bridge projects in Guntur district within three and a half years.

In a statement here on Tuesday (January 28, 2025), he outlined a phased approach to bridge approvals and construction, with a focus on timely execution.

Mr. Chandra Sekhar revealed that the Central Government has sanctioned ₹41 crore for the construction of a bridge at Pedapalakaluru LC No. 6, part of the Nallapadu-Pedapalakaluru-Pericherla section. The approval for this long-awaited project is seen as a milestone in Guntur’s urban development plans.

Highlighting other projects, the Minister stated that the Shankar Vilas ROB and the Outer Ring Road ROB have also been approved with central funding. “There will be no financial burden on the State government as these projects are fully funded by the central government,” he assured.

The Minister emphasised on the benefits these bridges would bring to agriculture, commuters, and connectivity in Guntur. He mentioned that these projects would enhance travel between key areas like Sattenapalli, Narasaraopet, Macherla, and Hyderabad, improving the region’s overall infrastructure and boosting local trade.

Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, Minister Nara Lokesh, and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Mr. Chandra Sekhar reaffirmed his commitment to serving the Guntur Parliamentary constituency and the people of Andhra Pradesh.

The bridges, he noted, are a fulfillment of a three-decade-long dream of Guntur residents.
