Kolkata:
Three persons accused in a murder case in Rajasthan were arrested from Kolkata on Thursday (October 16, 2025). The accused were hiding in a housing society in Kolkata when locals called the police. One accused remains absconding.
The four men were wanted in the October 7 murder of a trader in Rajasthan and were finally nabbed by the Kolkata Police from the Narkeldanga area under Phoolbagan Police Station jurisdiction. The three men who have been detained are Ganpat Gurjar, Mahesh Gurjar, and Dharmendra Gurjar. They were wanted in the murder case of Ramesh Rulania, a trader from Rajasthan.
Local police were notified after locals in the Narkeldanga area saw three suspicious men roaming around their locality. A police patrol team reached the spot and questioned them about their identity and whereabouts. Their stories did not match, raising suspicions with the officers.
“They were placed under prolonged examination, which revealed that the detained persons are reportedly wanted in a Murder Case of Kuchaman Police Station, Didwana District, Rajasthan. Accordingly, the SHO of Kuchaman Police Station was contacted, who also confirmed their involvement,” a high-ranking officer of the Kolkata Police said on Friday (October 17).
The accused also tried to escape when the police tried to detain them, but remained unsuccessful.
The three accused have been kept in police custody and are pending formal handover to the Rajasthan Police for further formal investigation.
