Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reiterated that the Polavaram project would be completed by June 2027, while observing that on its completion, surplus water could be supplied even to Telangana in addition to Rayalaseema through Nallamalasagar.
Claiming to have never objected to Kaleshwaram project, Mr. Naidu noted that Polavaram project would help in utilizing a huge quantity of the Godavari river water that otherwise goes waste into sea.
He praised the officials for achieving a 12.05% growth rate last year and 11.28% in the first half of 2025-26 against the national average growth rate of 8.70%. Efforts should be made to achieve 16% growth rate for FY 2025-26, he exhorted the officials.
Addressing a meeting of ministers and secretaries on Monday (January 12), Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said Andhra Pradesh attracted huge investments by focusing on ‘Speed of Doing Business’ and ‘Speed of Delivering Governance’ and the team spirit with which they were achieved, should continue.
He said the Revenue department was reformed, as part of which the process of distribution of Pattadar passbooks has been streamlined. The survey of all lands in the State would be completed by 2026 and land registrations made tamper-proof.
Attempts to malign TTD were being taken seriously as the sentiments of Hindus were being hurt, he observed.
The State government prevented the privatization of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant by securing a Central assistance of nearly ₹12,000 crore, he said. Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said the setting up of an AI data centre by Google was a major breakthrough and that the Quantum computing system in Amaravati would be ready within six months.
