Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar displayed spontaneous joy through dance moves at the Dubai International Stadium after India won the Champions Trophy. India secured their third Champions Trophy title by defeating New Zealand by four wickets, making them the most successful team in the tournament’s history.
The 75-year-old Gavaskar’s dance celebration went viral on social media as the Indian team received their traditional white jackets and trophy on the podium. Star Sports presenter Mayanti Langer stepped aside smiling, while Robin Uthappa captured the moment on his phone.

“Who is going to stop Sunny ji today?” asked Star Sports presenter Jatin Sapru.
“We shouldn’t stop him today because this is a wonderful moment. It was fun to watch him. He is a legend and a respected cricketer. It was for him that we all started playing cricket. We were fortunate that those trophies were in our hands. And today, he is living that same feeling again,” responded Harbhajan Singh.

The Indian team maintained an unbeaten record throughout the tournament, securing their second consecutive ICC title under Rohit Sharma’s leadership. The victory confirmed India’s position as the leading white-ball cricket team globally.
India’s recent ICC tournament performance highlights their dominance. They have won 22 out of their last 23 completed matches at the global stage. Their only defeat came against Australia in the 2023 50-overs World Cup final.

Captain Rohit Sharma led the team with a quick 76 runs in the final match. KL Rahul’s unbeaten 34 runs in the closing overs helped India achieve the target of 252 runs with one over remaining.
