IPL: Kolkata Knight Riders look to maintain winning run at home against Rajasthan Royals | Cricket News – Times of India

KOLKATA: Kolkata Knight Riders, in their quest to gain maximum benefits from their five-match home run, made the right start getting past Lucknow Super Giants quite easily on Sunday.
However, there is no room for complacency as they face table-toppers Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens here on Tuesday.
IPL 2024: POINTS TABLE | ORANGE CAP | PURPLE CAP
It will be a chance for the hosts to go to the top of the points table with another victory and maintain their 100% win record at home this season. But it is easier said than done as the Royals are expected to put up a much tougher challenge.
The Sanju Samson-led side is operating as a well-oiled unit with all bases covered. The skipper himself is leading by example, being the third highest run-getter (264) in this IPL so far.

Although their openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Butler have still not got going, RR have been able to put up high scores, since they bat deep with Riyan Parag, the second highest run-scorer (284) in this IPL, being a revelation.
Not only their batting, RR have a balanced bowling attack too.
While left-arm pacer Trent Boult is improving with each match, Indian pacers Avesh Khan and Kuldeep Sen are also playing their part. The Royals have one of the most experienced spinning units led by Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin.

If momentum counts in sports, then KKR will enjoy that coming into this match after a convincing victory in the last game.
Apart from lifting the spirit of the dressing room, two positives came out of Sunday’s win for KKR.
Opener Phil Salt got his career-best IPL score while star pacer Mitchell Starc silenced all doubters by restricting the Lucknow batters.
