Software exports of STPI-Hyderabad units rose 15% to over ₹1.42 lakh crore in FY25 


The Software Technology Parks of India-registered units under the STPI-Hyderabad jurisdiction achieved software exports of ₹1,42,591 crore in 2024-25.

This is an increase of 15% compared to ₹1,23,966.85 crore exports registered in 2023-24. STPI-Hyderabad operates through its main centre in Hyderabad and five sub-centres in Kakinada, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Warangal.

STPI-Hyderabad Directorate has been instrumental in nurturing the IT industry and tech startup ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. As a key enabler of the region’s digital transformation, it has played a major role in positioning Hyderabad among the top IT hubs in India. STPI-Hyderabad empowers India’s tech industry with 1.35 lakh sq.ft. of workspace, the Directorate said in a release on STPI’s 34th Foundation Day.

STPI began its journey with three centres, at a time when the IT industry was at a nascent stage. Presently, STPI has 67 centres across the country that played a vital role in transforming the IT industry of the country. In 2024-25, exports by STPI registered units reached more than ₹10 lakh crore, STPI Director General Arvind Kumar said.

In line with the government of India’s emphasis, STPI is working to enhance the presence of IT industry in Tier-II and Tier-III cities of the country. As many as 59 of its 67 centres are in Tier-II and Tier-III cities. It is also nurturing tech startup ecosystem through its 24 centres of entrepreneurship (CoEs) and NGIS and supported more than 1,400 startups. Startups empowered through the STPI ecosystem have raised ₹574 crore funds from investors.

Towards boosting innovation and entrepreneurship, STPI-Hyderabad has set up two CoEs — IMAGE and Kalpataru focused on high-potential emerging technologies in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, respectively.

IMAGE is dedicated to Gaming, Animation, VFX, Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence. Focused on Industry 4.0, Kalpataru aims to build a robust innovation ecosystem. IMAGE and Kalpaturu CoE’s have nurtured 92 and 42 startups, respectively.
