Sanathan Textiles to commission new plant in Punjab in six weeks

Sanathan Textiles will commission a greenfield polyester filament yarn (PFY) production unit in Punjab in the next four to six weeks, said Sammir D. Dattani, Executive Director.

The plant that is coming up with almost ₹2,100 crore investment in the first phase will have a capacity to produce 2.4 lakh tonne of yarn annually and will give a revenue of nearly ₹1,500 crore for the current financial year, he told The Hindu recently.

The second phase will be commissioned in another two to three years. Sanathan Textiles currently produces about two lakh tonne of PFY annually apart from fine combed cotton yarn, and polyester-based yarn for the technical textiles segment. The company is targeting 12% share in the Indian PFY market when the new plant is fully operational.
