Pawan Kalyan’s ‘They Call Him OG’ breaks box office records with Rs 23 crore premiere day collection; highest in India | Telugu Movie News – The Times of India


Pawan Kalyan’s ‘They Call Him OG’ is creating box office history. The film’s premiere collections have surpassed all previous records in India. It earned over Rs 23 crore in previews alone. The film has beaten records set by ‘Pushpa 2’, ‘Stree 2’, and ‘Chennai Express’. North America is also witnessing the Pawan Kalyan wave.

Pawan Kalyan is back on the big screen after the disastrous run of Hari Hara Veer Mallu and this time he is not leaving any stone unturned at the box office. The film directed by Sujeeth who is best known for directing Prabhas’s Saaho has set the ticket window on fire just with the paid previews. As per reports shared by Sacnilk, They Call HIM OG has taken a flying stat at the box office where just it’s premiere collection has crossed Rs 23 crore mark- making it the biggest premiere day collection in India. The record for it was earlier also held by Pawan Kalyan for his last film Hari Hara Veer Mallu which had minted Rs 15 crore with its premiere shows. The film has also gone past the previous held by some of the biggest names in the business like All Arjun’s Pushpa 2- The Rule had collected about Rs 10.65 crore from it’s premiere shows while Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 had collected about Rs 8.5 crore and Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Chennai Express had earned Rs 6.75 crore from its paid premieres. The buzz of Pawan Kalyan’s film has passed on to its first day as well where till 11 AM the film has minted around Rs 11.61 crore and it targeting to go past the premiere day collection by early evening. The magic of Pawan Kalyan is being felt in North America as well which is the biggest market for Telugu films outside of India. A few hours ago the film has crossed USD 3 million mark for it’s premiere show making it the biggest Telugu film of 2025 in the circuit just with it’s premiere collection. The film still has a long way to go to break even after the film was sold at the price band of Rs 12 crore some three years and with interest the final valuation has jumped. They Call Him OG also marks the debut of Emraan Hashmi in Telugu Cinema, he plays the role of Omi in the film and is getting a lot of praise for the film. He will be next seen in Awarapaan 2 with Disha Patani, directed by Nitin Kakkar.
