AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Thursday (November 13, 2025) urged the Transport Department under the DMK government to hold talks with Omni Bus Owners Associations, who have suspended all inter-State services from November 9, and arrive at an amicable solution.
In a post on X, he said Omni Bus Owners Associations have been protesting against the levy of penalties by other States.
“For the past week, since omnibuses have not been operating to other States, Tamil Nadu passengers are facing immense difficulties in undertaking travel to other States. The State government should hold talks to resolve the issues and find a way to enable the people of the State to undertake their travel,” Mr. Palaniswami said.
In a separate post on X, he also flagged the frequent arrests of fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy, citing the recent incident of arrest of fishermen from Mayiladuthurai.
“I strongly urge the Central and State governments to take war-footing action to put an end to this inhuman act by the Sri Lankan government,” Mr. Palaniswami said.
He also urged the DMK government to provide all necessary assistance to the families of all Tamil Nadu fishermen who have been arrested.
