The makers of the Malayalam superhero movieLokah Chapter 1: Chandrahave announced a sequel to the film. Actor-producer Dulquer Salmaan announced the second part with a promotional video. Tovino Thomas is set to star as the lead in the video.
In the video, Tovino Thomas’s character, Chathan (a goblin) named Michael, is seen talking to Dulquer’s character, Charlie, a ninja-like figure. Both the characters are part of the rich folklore of Kerala.
Tovino’s character shows a book titled ‘They Live Among Us’, and talks about the second chapter in it. He says the first chapter is on Neeli, the character played by Kalyani Priyadarshan in the first part. He adds that the second chapter deals with him, indicating that the sequel will revolve around Michael and the world of chathans.
Michael also mentions his brother, calling him dangerous. He seeks Charlie’s helps in case he finds it tough to stop his brother. The promotional video ends with Michael facing off with his evil brother, also essayed by Tovino. The video hints at the actor playing a double role.
The sequel will be directed by Dominic Arun, who helmed the first part as well. Nimish Ravi is the cinematographer while Jakes Bejoy is the music composer. Santhy Balachandran will write the additional screenplay. Chaman Chakko is the editor.
In the first part, Kalyani played a yakshi, a supernatural entity who arrives to Bengaluru with a mission. The action extravaganza, set in Bengaluru, also starred Naslen, Sandy and Chandu in prominent roles. Dulquer and Tovino played cameos in the movie. The blockbuster superhero movie was bankrolled by Dulquer’s Wayfarer Movies.
