Chicago turned 7 on Jan. 15 and one week after, her mama Kim threw her an exquisite Cowboy-themed party. From cowboy boots to cowboy hats, the pink and white cowboy-themed party has become the talk of social media.
Wild West marries white and pink decor

Kim Kardashian gave a sneak peek of the decor of Chicago’s birthday bash. The table had a pink gingham runner through it, with pink cowboy boots filled with flowers as a centerpiece. The ‘boot vases’ were accompanied by crystal vases full of white and pink flowers. Next to the table, one can see the haybales lying on the ground, topped with the same gingham fabric. On the wall, one can see a canvas depicted with what seems to be a road map, resembling one from the Wild West!
Birthday cake and fashion

The birthday girl Chicago got the best Cowboy-themed cake for her seventh birthday. The cake had a round base decorated with a Wild West brown belt featured with a vintage-metal-inspired buckle. On top of it was the pink and white-themed cowboy boot, with 7 written on it.
“Happy 7th Birthday Chi!” was written on the base with sugar and surrounding it was a horsewhip in pink.

Birthday girl Chi wore a white cowboy co-ord with rhinestone embellishment on her back that reads ‘Chicago West’. Chi’s siblings and other guests at the party too adhered to the theme of the night! Mama Kim Kardashian wore a black leather shirt paired with denim pants, and a cowboy hat for the day.
Well, Chicago West’s Cowboy-themed party is certainly a hit. But why is America so obsessed with this cowboy fantasy?
America’s obsession with Cowboys
Pop culture has played a crucial role in popularising the Cowboys and Wild West or Old West to the world. The rugged American men, horses, cowboy hats, revolvers in their belts, and their adventures evoke nostalgia. Similarly cowboy aesthetics too have been a part of American culture.

Americans’ obsession with cowboys runs deeper, and the Wild West lifestyle is often seen as a symbol of freedom, resilience, and adventure. American folklore and Hollywood have certainly romanticized Cowboys as people living life on their own terms.
From time immemorial, Americans have looked up to cowboys as heroes, for their hardworking nature Though it may come as a surprise, cowboys’ origins trace back to Spain, and the earliest European settlers of America. They were called vaqueros (the Spanish word for cowboy), and Spanish settlers brought the tradition of cattle ranching to America.
Cowboy fashion
The cowboy fashion is all about practicality and rugged elegance. The cowboy hats and boots, the western shirt (typically made from cotton or denim( with decorative stitching and fringe, the denim jeans, bandana, belts with statement buckles, and vests are part of the style.

These pieces stem out of the terrain and topography they lived. The rugged landscape of the American West, including the vast deserts and mountains has a crucial role in the earthy colours they often pick. The iconic wide-brimmed cowboy hats gave them protection from harsh sunlight, rain, and wind. The pointed-toe boots with raised heels were ideal for the rocky terrains. The fabric too plays a significant role. The cotton and denim were practical for them. Cowboys are animal herder who tends cattle on ranches, which means they ride horses, so durable materials like leather were used for chaps and gloves, which gave them protection against thorns, bushes, and rough landscapes. During the winter, they would wear vests.
Even after centuries, the cowboy fashion prevails. Today, cowboy fashion is often seen incorporated into streetwear, high fashion, and runways. It is also reminiscent of the good old days. And, oh, boy, don’t we all absolutely adore the cowboy hats and boots!
