Singing sensation and Albanian singer Dua Lipa, recently performed in Mumbai on a mash-up of her song Levitating with Bollywood’s popular song “Who Ladki Jo Sabse Alag Hai” as part of her Radical Optimism Tour. A clip of the performance is going viral on social media for all the wrong reasons. While Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) fans were in for a treat with this viral performance, others have been commenting that Dua Lipa didn’t give credit to the song’s original singer/ or mash-up artist, DJ Ruchir Kulkarni.

Well, Dua is a star performer whose videos go viral within a fraction of a second. There’s another video of hers that has managed to create a social media storm with the quirky and bold variation in Diet Coke. In the video, one can see that she shared her unusual drink creation by mixing Diet Coke with pickle juice and pickled jalapenos. The concoction prepared during a visit to a restaurant in Texas has gone viral, bewildering fans and celebrities.

In the video, Dua confidently crafts her quirky cocktail, pouring pickle juice and jalapeno brine into a glass of Diet Coke, and then garnishing it with pickle and jalapeno slices. Sharing sips with her dining companions, their reactions ranged from curious enthusiasm to outright scepticism.
For those adventurous enough to try, here’s how you can recreate Dua’s viral drink:
1. Fill a glass with ice and Diet Coke.
2. Add about a tablespoon of pickle juice and jalapeno brine.
3. Garnish with slices of pickles and pickled jalapenos.
The result is a fizzy, tangy, and slightly spicy drink that’s equal parts curious and bold.
What does it taste like?
Taste reviews are all over the place. Fans and sceptics alike have weighed in online. One user declared it “surprisingly refreshing,” while another admitted, “I thought it would be gross, but I kind of love it!” But others said it’s “an acquired taste” and “better as a dare than a drink.”
A ‘Dirty Soda’ evolution?
Dua’s spicy Diet Coke seems to be one of the recent “dirty sodas,” a movement where people add syrups, creamers, or other ingredients to sodas for new flavours.
While Dirty Soda became famous through TikTok and shows like ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’, Dua’s version is on a whole other level because of its bold, savoury flavour.
Why the craze?
The viral success of this drink is a mix of Dua Lipa’s star power, its quirky appeal, and the internet’s fascination with all things unexpected. Whether the taste is worth the attention or just for fun to ride the trend, this spicy Diet Coke has undeniably become the talk of the town.
Will you be brave enough to try Dua’s unique creation, or is this one trend you’ll pass on?
