Never hit them back
When a child hits, it might feel tempting to hit back to “teach them a lesson,” but this approach can be damaging. If you hit them in return, it sends mixed messages, as they learn that physical force is an acceptable response. Instead, remain calm and firmly state that hitting is not allowed.
