Kauvery Hospital opens specialised HCM clinic at its facility in Vadapalani

Kauvery Hospital, Vadapalani, has launched a specialised Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) Clinic offering comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for the condition in a single, integrated facility. HCM is a genetic heart disorder marked by abnormal thickening of the heart muscle, potentially leading to breathlessness, chest pain, fainting, or sudden cardiac death. Early identification and structured management are essential.

The clinic provides full-spectrum services: genetic testing (including PGT-M), counselling, family screening, advanced imaging (MRI, echo), biomarker diagnostics, alcohol septal ablation (ASA), SESAME technology, electrophysiological studies, device implantation (pacemakers, ICDs), surgical options such as septal myectomy and mitral valve repair, and evaluation for heart transplantation in advanced cases.

P. Manokar, senior interventional cardiologist, clinical lead, Heart Failure & Transplant Program at the Hospital ,  said, “HCM requires tailored treatment. Our clinic enables early detection and coordinated management across all modalities.” Anbarasu Mohanraj, clinical lead – Cardiovascular Surgery, added, “For cases not responding to medical therapy, surgical intervention is assessed through a multidisciplinary team.”
