Mammootty in ‘Kalamkaval’.

The release of Mammootty’s much-awaited Malalayam film, Kalamkaval, has been postponed, the veteran actor announced on Thursday, November 21, 2025. The film, directed by debutant Jithin Jose K and also starring Vinayakan, was earlier set to be released on November 27. Its new release date has not been revealed yet.
Mammootty made the announcement by sharing the film’s poster on X. He wrote in caption, “#Kalamkaval Release Postponed, New Release Date will be Announced Soon!!”

Kalamkaval, penned by Jishnu Sreekumar and Jithin, is rumoured to have the veteran actor donning the role of serial killer Mohan Kumar, popularly known as Cyanide Mohan, convicted of raping and murdering multiple women under the false promise of marriage.
Faisal Ali handles the cinematography, while Mujeeb Majeed is the music director of the project. Praveen Prabhakar serves as the editor.
Mammootty was seen earlier this year in Bazooka. He played a cameo in Lokah Chapter 1 : Chandra. The makers have promised to explore his character Muthoon in the upcoming parts of the superhero franchise.
