The Fasli year is the primary reference, be it for land revenue, updation of village records, various events connected to Jamabandi and the annual audited account of crop cultivation in Tamil Nadu.‘Fasli’ is believed to have been followed initially during the Mughal era, and the colonial rulers continued to use it.
