Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in New Delhi has announced a partnership with the Cambodian Premier League side Angkor Tiger Football Club, based in Siem Reap, for the upcoming 2025-26 season of the Cambodian Youth League.

The academy teams of Angkor Tiger FC (under-16 and under-19) play in the national Cambodian Youth League. Indian company SkaSports Investments Private Limited had acquired a minority stake in Angkor Tiger Football Club in August 2023.

As part of the partnership, the Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals logo will be placed in the front of the jersey. There will also be medical educational seminars and camps being hosted in Siem Reap for the Academy players and their families, alongside medical awareness sessions.

Speaking on the partnership, Shivakumar Pattabhiraman, Managing Director, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, said: “Our association with Angkor Tiger Football Club reflects a shared vision of empowering youth, fostering community engagement, and building healthier, more resilient futures. We are proud to lend our support to a platform that inspires discipline, teamwork and growth values we deeply resonate with.”

“It’s a matter of great pride for the team to be supported by a world-class institution; the confidence they have reposed in our Youth Development programmes will inspire the technical staff and players to consistently improve their performance,” said Sudhir Menon, Director of SkaSports & Angkor Tiger FC.

Meanwhile, Akihiro Kato, owner and chairperson of Angkor Tiger FC, commented, “Apollo Hospital’s encouragement means a lot to us as we continue nurturing young talent in Cambodia. It is always inspiring to see leaders in healthcare take an interest in the growth of grassroots football.”

Rohit Ramesh, Director of SkaSports, said, “We are extremely delighted to onboard Indraprastha Apollo Hospital as the main partner of our Angkor Tiger Football Club Academy and Youth Development programme. Their support and expertise will be an indispensable value addition to our efforts to develop young talents and will further motivate us to strive for greater accomplishments.”

Takahisa Kiyone, Chief Operating Officer, Angkor Tiger FC, added, “Their involvement brings not only valuable encouragement, but also a strong message that youth sports and health go hand in hand. We look forward to sharing our journey with such a respected name in healthcare.”
