GST 2.0 will increase people’s purchasing power, says Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu released a booklet containing G.O.s related to the new GST rates published in Telugu, at his camp office on Sunday.

On the occasion, Mr. Naidu said the GST-2.0 was a people-first policy that reduces expenses and simplifies procedures, thereby empowering the masses. He stated that the new GST reforms coming into force from the midnight of September 21 would strengthen the Indian economy.

These reforms were expected to yield an additional benefit of nearly ₹2 lakh crore to the people in the form of a steep reduction in the GST rates. For the people of Andhra Pradesh, the benefits would amount to nearly ₹8,000 crore.

The Chief Minister said the slashing of GST on many essential goods was a big  positive for the middle classes, and it would benefit the farmers and artisans a lot. The cut in GST rates resulted in an increase in the purchasing power, which gave a boost to consumption, thereby making the economy stronger.
