Minister for Industries T.R.B. Rajaa, on Monday, said the future of India is going to be driven by Tamil Nadu and its research and development (R&D) ecosystem.
“India is today manufacturing and servicing for the world. We would love Tamil Nadu to become a product nation and India itself become a product nation,” he said at the inaugural session of the two-day Tamil Nadu Land Use 2025 international conference on research and innovation for a sustainable future organised by the State Planning Commission at the IIT Madras Research Park.
“I think every single research, how small it may be, it’s going to add value to the state as the R&D hub of India. And I would love to see Tamil Nadu become the R&D capital of India, which it is now, but in a bigger way and make this ecosystem even more vibrant,” Mr. Rajaa said.
He also stressed on more research in the field of animal husbandry and land use.
Mr Rajaa released two reports ‘Land Use Research in Tamil Nadu: 15 Years of Tamil Nadu State Land Use Research Board (TNSLURB)‘, a compendium reflecting the Board’s journey and contributions, and a coffee-table book titled ‘Vaduvoor – A Landscape of Wings’ based on the study undertaken by the Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History with funding support from TNSLURB.
