Former govt. pleader gets one-year imprisonment for outraging modesty of woman


A former government pleader was convicted of outraging the modesty of a woman.

Dhanesh Mathew Manjooran, the lawyer, was sentenced to one year of simple imprisonment and ordered to pay a fine of ₹10,000 by A. Abhirami, Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate 2, on Thursday (September 25, 2025).

The court found him guilty of the offence under Section 354 of the IPC. The alleged incident took place in 2016. The prosecution was led by Assistant Public Prosecutors E.K. Sheeja, M.C. Anish, and Honey Jacob.
