The Vellimedupettai police arrested six persons and seized 5 kgs of ganja from their possession on Monday.
The arrested were identified as Kaviarasu, 23, Sathish 20, Ragupathy, 19, Kubendhiran, 19 Dravid, 19 and Venkatesan, 20.
Police said during a vehicle check at Vellimedupettai bus stop, a team intercepted them. As they gave evasive replies, police personnel searched them and found 5 kgs of ganja.
The police seized the contraband, a two-wheeler and four mobile phones from their possession. They were produced before a local court and remanded in custody.
