Eleven vehicles, which were registered in Puducherry but running in Kalaburagi without paying applicable taxes to the Karnataka government, were seized in Kalaburagi on Friday.
The Kalaburagi Regional Transport Office (RTO), in a media note, said that the seized vehicles were parked at the driving track at the RTO office off Ring Road in the city and notified the vehicle owners to pay the taxes and complete other procedures to take back their vehicles.
“The vehicles were registered in Puducherry. The vehicle owners need to get No Objection Certificates from the Puducherry Transport Office to get their vehicles registered in Kalaburagi Transport Office after paying taxes to the Karnataka government. The drive to seize the vehicles registered in other states but are running on Karnataka roads without paying Karnataka taxes will continue,” the note cautioned.
