Padukone was not only invited to the event to walk the red carpet, but to also take over the big stage and present the award for Best Film Not in the English Language.

Alia Bhatt gets accused of ‘copying’ Deepika Padukone yet again as she gets papped at the airport
Recently, doting husband Ranveer Singh expressed his admiration for Deepika Padukone after glimpsing photos of her circulated online. Notably, Deepika stood as the sole Indian presenter at the prestigious British awards show, captivating in an exquisite golden saree crafted by Sabyasachi. Esteemed photographer Greg Williams graced his Instagram feed with a collection of snapshots from the event, among which a candid black-and-white portrait of Deepika stood out, capturing Ranveer’s heartfelt attention. In the comments section, the Don 3 actor lavished Deepika with affectionate words. He wrote, “Such a beautiful shot of Deepika! Love it! ❤ ugh.. her smile.”
While we saw the star hand out the trophy, it is this new set of backstage images that have turned up online and taken social media by storm. The dramatic photos see Deepika focused on her lines as she got ready to hit the stage. The photos also see the star getting some last-minute adjustments to her saree and also touching up her makeup.
Surrounded by a group of organisers and security, the star was then seen being shown the way to through London’s Royal Festival Hall. The actress even took a moment to pause and pose for the shutterbugs who were eager to get a photo of the beauty.
Complementing her attire, Deepika opted for a dewy look accentuated by kohl-rimmed eyes and topped it off with chic messy hair bun and striking statement earrings that completed the look. Considering that her saree and blouse were both shimmery, the actress ditched any extra jewellery.
This isn’t Padukone’s first foray onto the international stage. Just last year, she made waves at the Oscars, introducing the song ‘Nattu Nattu’ from the blockbuster film ‘RRR’.
On the work front, Deepika will be seen next in the sci-fi action thriller film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ alongside south actor Prabhas. Helmed by Nag Ashwin the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and will hit the theatres on May 9, 2024.
