Rakesh Roshan reveals how he avoided any ego clash between Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and convinced them to do Karan Arjun: ‘Unko kuch mauka hi..’ – EXCLUSIVE | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Rakesh Roshan‘s ‘Karan Arjun’ is re-releasing in cinemas. The film continues to remain iconic over the years even though it released in 1995. From the film’s dialogues, to the story line and songs, everything has been remembered over the years. But what continues to remain a major talking point is how the film-maker got together these two superstars who were at the peak of their careers at that point in time. Infact, 30 years later, when Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan re-united in ‘Pathaan‘, people called it the ‘Karan Arjun’ re-union.
Ask Roshan how he managed to make this happen because no other film-maker has managed to do it over the years as ‘Pathaan’ was also just a cameo from Salman. Reacting to it, during a chat with Etimes, Rakesh Roshan said, “Being an actor I know what an actor feels. Jab main film likh raha tha, main naap tol ke likh raha tha. Agar iske 10 scene hai toh uske bhi dus scene. Agar iska ek gaana hai toh uska bhi ek gaana hai. I balanced the whole script and when I narrated it to them. Unko bolne ka mauka hi nahi mila ke uska role zyada accha hai ya mera aisa kyun hai (When I wrote the scenes, I balanced it out. If he had 10 scenes, I made sure the other actor also had 10 scenes. If Salman had a song, Shah Rukh also had a song. That’s how I wrote the whole script, balanced it out and then narrated it to them. So, they did not even get a chance to feel that the other actor has a better role or more screen presence. They were instantly convinced).”
Recently, the makers launced a new trailer of Karan Arjun with Hrithik Roshan‘s voice over in it, which got a lot of love. ‘Karan Arjun’ is re-releasing in cinemas on November 22. The film also stars Rakhee, Kajol, Mamta Kulkarni and the late Amrish Puri.
Stay tuned for more from our exclusive conversation with Rakesh Roshan about Karan Arjun, Hrithik Roshan, the trend of re-releases and much more!
