Three years after the release of Pushpa: The Rise, the much-awaited second instalment in the series, Pushpa: The Rule, releases in theatres worldwide on December 5. At the pre-release event held in Hyderabad earlier this week, actor Allu Arjun had revealed that the film will be released in more than 12,000 screens worldwide. The Telugu film directed by Sukumar is headlined by Allu Arjun and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil is also simultaneously releasing in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
The government had issued a notice on November 29, permitting ‘benefit shows’ or premieres in select screens in Hyderabad with an increase in ticket price of ₹800. In single screens in the city, a premiere ticket costs nearly ₹1050, inclusive of taxes.
On December 5, permission has been granted for shows to begin as early as 1 a.m., with a ticket price hike of ₹150 for single screens and ₹200 for multiplexes until December 8. Multiplex tickets cost approximately ₹570 a ticket in Hyderabad, inclusive of taxes.
Permission has also been granted for an increase in ticket price of ₹105 for single screens and ₹150 for multiplexes from December 9 to 16; increase of ₹20 in single screens and ₹50 in multiplexes from December 17 to 23.
Pushpa 2 marks the fourth collaboration between Sukumar and Allu Arjun following Arya, Arya 2 and Pushpa: The Rise, and the film will take off where part one ended, promising a stiff clash between the characters played by Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil. After RRR, Salaar and Kalki, Pushpa 2 hopes to create new benchmark for box office records across India.
