The blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles recorded its lowest collections at the box office on its 6th Monday.
The film which has been running a rampage at the box office over the past month, manged to rake in an estimated Rs 1 crore, which is its new low. Previously the film’s 6th Friday collection amounted to Rs 1.5 crore domestic net collection. The film continues to maintain its grip over the box office, despite stiff competition from new releases.
The action-packed sequel has been a phenomenal success, with record-breaking collections since its release. After a roaring opening week collecting Rs 725.8 crore, the movie continued to dominate the box office in subsequent weeks, crossing several milestones. The film earned an estimated Rs 264.8 crore in its second week and saw collections dip to Rs 129.5 crore over its third week.
From the film’s fourth week at the box office, numbers further dipped below the 100-crore mark with the movie making an estimated Rs Rs 69.65 crore. In its 5th week, the numbers dipped below the Rs 50 crore mark, earning just around Rs 23.25 crore.
According to reports, the film’s collections on its 40th day have now pushed its total week 6 collection to an estimated Rs 6.5 crore. The overall total of the film now stands at an estimated Rs 1221.55 crore.
As Pushpa 2 heads into its sixth weekend, industry experts predict it will continue to rake in consistent numbers with the new ‘Reloaded’ version slated to be out on Friday. The new version will reportedly add another 20 minutes to the film.
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule has been lauded for its gripping storyline, high-octane action sequences, and Allu Arjun’s stellar performance as Pushpa Raj. Fans have also appreciated Rashmika Mandanna’s portrayal of Srivalli, along with Fahadh Faasil’s compelling role as the antagonist Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.
Globally, Pushpa 2 has cemented its position as one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time, surpassing several records, including that of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
