Legendary actor Kamal Haasan mourned the death of Manoj Bharathiraja, son of veteran Tamil filmmaker-actor Bharathiraja. Manoj suffered a cardiac arrest on Tuesday (March 25, 2025).
Kamal took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his condolences. “I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear the news of the passing of Manoj Bharathiraja, the son of actor and my soulmate director Bharathiraja,” Kamal wrote.

Manoj passed away at the age of 48 in Chennai. The actor had recently undergone a bypass surgery and was recuperating at his home in Chetpet when he suffered a cardiac arrest.
“I express my deepest condolences to Bharathiraja, his family, and friends, who are grieving the loss of their beloved son,” Kamal said in his post.
In a career marked by many ups and downs, Manoj starred in films such as Samudhiram, Kadal Pookkal, Varushamellam Vasantham, and Eera Nilam.

After a few stints as a lead actor, Manoj transitioned into a supporting actor and starred in films such as Vaaimai, Eeswaran, Maanaadu, and Viruman.
