‘Ground Zero’ trailer: Emraan Hashmi is intense as BSF commander in war drama

Sanchit Gupta and Priyadarshree Srivastava have written the story, screenplay and dialogue of the movie. According to the makers, “GroundZero is an untold story of courage and sacrifice set against the backdrop of war. The film is a gritty story inspired by a mission that was awarded BSF’s best operation in the last 50 years, in 2015.”

Emraan Hashmi is a tenacious Border Security Force (BSF) commander tracking down a terror mastermind in Ground Zero. Inspired by true events, the action thriller is set in Kashmir in the aftermath of the 2001 Indian Parliament attack. Hashmi portrays real-life Kirti Chakra awardee Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey in the film.

A decorated BSF officer, Dhar led a two-year operation to eliminate Ghazi Baba (Shahbaz Khan), a top-ranking Jaish-e-Mohammed commander believed to have masterminded the Parliament attack. Khan was killed in a BSF operation in 2003 in Srinagar.

Ground Zero also features Sai Tamhankar, Zoya Hussain, Mukesh Tiwari, Deepak Parmesh, Lalit Prabhakar, Rockey Raina and Rahul Vohra in the cast.

Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Movies, Ground Zero is releasing in cinemas on April 25, 2025. Hashmi was last seen in Tiger 3, starring Salman Khan. Directed by Maneesha Sharma, the movie hit the screens on November 12, 2023.
