Coldplay has officially dethroned Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour as the most-attended concert tour in history. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the British band’s Music of the Spheres World Tour has now surpassed 10.3 million attendees, edging past Swift’s 10.1 million milestone.

This achievement comes after a series of sold-out shows in New Zealand, marking a historic moment for the band. Coldplay, known for their immersive live performances and sustainability-driven tours, has strategically combined high-capacity stadiums with an extensive tour schedule to set this new benchmark. With an average audience of over 58,000 per show, their tour has outpaced past record-holders, including Ed Sheeran, U2, and Elton John.

Unlike many top artists, Coldplay has played an exceptionally high number of concerts. Since its launch in 2022, Music of the Spheres has included 175 performances, with many more lined up until September. The band’s record-breaking Ahmedabad concert, which drew 134,000 fans, further contributed to their unprecedented numbers. By the time the tour concludes, attendance is expected to surpass 12 million.

Swift’s Eras Tour, while monumental in its own right, now holds the second spot. Both tours are the only ones in history to cross the 10-million mark in ticket sales, cementing their legacy in the live music industry. With Coldplay’s tour still ongoing, their final tally could set a record that remains unchallenged for years to come.
