He warmly wished the fans and audience a happy Republic Day, as the concert was held on the 76th Republic Day of India (January 26).
Chris’s Hindi greeting ignited an extra burst of energy and excitement, deepening the connection with the fans. ‘Namaste aap sabhi ko jo humko live stream pe dekh rahe hain (greetings to everyone watching us on the live stream),’ he said. ‘Aap sabka bahut swagat hai, aapne hume perform karne ka mauka diya, hume bohot khushi ho rahi hai (Welcome to all of you! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to perform. We are very happy).’
During a candid address to the crowd, Chris continued his speech with genuine enthusiasm. “Thank you all so much for making the effort to come to this show. I know it’s difficult to come here with the traffic, hotels, the ticket queues, and all the nonsense you had to go through. Thank you for making the effort to give us this amazing day. Thank you for welcoming us to your beautiful country, and thank you for letting us play for India.”Chris expressed deep gratitude to the Ahmedabad audience, acknowledging their efforts in attending the concert and creating signs. He humorously mentioned that he might not be able to read all the signs but would try to read a few. In a personal moment, he read a birthday wish from a fan and invited another fan on stage to sing “Everglow” with him, adding a heartfelt touch to the event.
