Comedian Bharti Singh recently shared an emotional memory of Shah Rukh Khan that brought her to tears. During her appearance on The Thugesh Show, Bharti revealed a deeply touching moment when King Khan’s humility and kindness left a lasting impact on her.
Bharti recalled the incident when Shah Rukh Khan, a guest on Comedy Nights Bachao, dressed up as her iconic character Lalli. She said, “I was new in the industry, having just come from my village. I doubted whether Shah Rukh would actually perform as Lalli. I also didn’t know the level of grandeur— I hadn’t seen Mannat. So, I just asked him, ‘Sir, will you dress up as Lalli?’ And he immediately said, ‘Yes.’ When I handed him the wig, he even asked for my character’s full costume, which was a frock. When he dressed up, I couldn’t hold back my tears. I had come to Mumbai from a poor family in Amritsar, and here I was, asking Shah Rukh Khan for something—and he just did it. It was one of the golden days of my life. I am a huge fan of his.”
Bharti’s emotional moment was captured on the show, where Shah Rukh Khan, dressed as Lalli, joked, “Pehle hi log jo hai samajhte nahi hai ki main macho hero hoon. Yeh dekhne ke baad thodi bohot jo rahi hogi woh bhi khatam ho jayegi.” Bharti, overcome with emotion, hugged him tightly, and the actor gently thanked her and kissed her hands.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is set to star in King, an upcoming action drama, alongside his daughter Suhana Khan, and Munjya star Abhay Verma. The film, which has generated much excitement, is described as a “cool, massy, action, emotional film.” At the Locarno Film Festival, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his enthusiasm for the project, revealing, “It’s a Hindi film. It’ll be interesting. I’ve been wanting to do a film like that for some time, and I really wanted to do a film like this for seven, or eight years… We are all coming together to make a cool, massy, action, emotional film.”
The release date of King has yet to be announced, but it is certainly one to look forward to.
