‘Jigra’ producer Karan Johar was also present. He made a public appearance alongside his business partner Apoorva Mehta. The duo made headlines recently when Dharma Productions declared they were going to halt media pre-release screenings. Johar and Mehta revealed in a joint statement that the production company made this choice in order to maintain the thrill and experience of seeing movies in theaters.
The statement read, “After much deliberation, we’ve decided to forgo pre-release screenings for our upcoming films. However, we will continue to host screenings for the press on release day for timely reviews.” The announcement has received mixed reactions from the industry, while some have praised the effort to maintain the theatrical experience, others have voiced concerns about the timing of reviews.
Meanwhile, Jigra is scheduled to be released on the big screens on October 11, 2024. Alia is the co-producer of the film and Vasan Bala has directed the film.
