Salman Khan, ahead of his film Sikandar, appeared on his nephew Arhaan Khan’s podcast Dumb Biryani. While guiding Arhaan on career choices, he shared that acting was never his initial goal—he had always dreamed of becoming a director.
Salman revealed that he originally wanted to be a director. During his modeling days, he also explored writing, as it was essential for his directorial aspirations. However, at just 17, he struggled to find opportunities because people doubted his ability to direct at such a young age.
The actor further explained that he turned to acting after being encouraged by others. He started making videos with Nasir, Nazim, and Kazim, sons of Johnny Walker. In these videos, he didn’t play a comedian or a villain but took on the role of the hero.
Salman entered Bollywood in 1988 with a supporting role in Biwi Ho Toh Aisi, featuring Rekha, Farooq Sheikh, and Bindu. He later starred as the lead in Maine Pyar Kiya opposite Bhagyashree, which became a blockbuster. Over the years, he delivered multiple hits, cementing his place as a top Bollywood star.
Salman Khan last appeared in Tiger 3 with Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi. Up next, he stars in AR Murugadoss‘ Sikandar alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, and Suniel Shetty. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the action drama is set to hit theatres this Eid.
