On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day of India on January 26, 2025, Bollywood star, Aamir Khan visited the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat. He paid respect to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, saluting to the world’s largest statue.
In the press conference during his visit, the ‘Laal Singh Chadha’ actor expressed his gratitude to PM Narendra Modi for his ability to vision, and the opportunity he received to reflect on the freedom fighters including his great-uncle.
He said, “I had the opportunity to sit down and reflect on the freedom fighters, including my great-uncle Maulana Azad, who was alongside Gandhi in the struggle.” The ‘Dangal’ actor added, “It was a very special day for me, and I truly enjoyed myself.” Continuing with his respects, he mentioned how a truly extraordinary figure has been made, he added, “This is a remarkable place that PM Modi envisioned and built. It has become something truly extraordinary. I encourage all citizens to visit here,” persuading his fans to pay respect and experience one of a kind figurines in the whole world.
The statue depicts Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the primary Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of independent India. Appointed as the 49th President of the Indian National Congress, Patel played a pivotal role in the integration of India. The statue is situated facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam on the Narmada River, approximately 100 kilometers southeast of Vadodara.
Meanwhile, Khan was spotted in Juhu last month for a podcast with Nana Patekar. In his professional universe, his films are all lined up to receive a laud from his fans. His upcoming films include ‘Lahore: 1947’, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, ‘Ek Din’, and ‘Pritam Pyaare’. According to Pinkvilla, Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Lahore: 1947’ starring Sunny Deol has a release date of sometime in August 2025.
