Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, who turned 60 on March 13, 2025 (Thursday), confirmed that he has begun work on his dream project, Mahabharata. The actor opened up about the film during a press conference in Mumbai.

“We have begun working on it (Mahabharata). We have put together a team, and the writing work has started,” he said. When asked if his fans can expect the project to be a reality within the next five years, Aamir said, “Let’s see how the first phase goes. I will take a call on it after that.”

According to many news reports making the rounds, Salman Khan and Aamir have discussed the possibility of a sequel to Andaz Apna Apna, their 1994 comedy film written and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. “I would love to see Andaz Apna Apna 2 happen. We have told Santosh to write the script. Salman and I would want to do it.”

The actor also spoke about his meeting with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman at his residence. “We had a lovely time catching up.” Will there be a collaboration between the three big Khans of Bollywood? “If we get the right script, then why not.”

The veteran star, who produced Kiran Rao’s Laapata Ladies— India’s official entry to Oscars — is awaiting the release of Sitare Zameen Par. “It’s a sequel to Taare Zameen Par but it has a different central character compared to the original. That film was emotional and made you cry. This will make you laugh. Sitare Zameen Par has a great thought. It’s futuristic in its own way.”
