“Schools should encourage innovation, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking from an early age among children,” said Abhay Jere, Vice-Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Chief Innovation Officer, Ministry of Education.
Addressing the ‘Innovation, Design & Entrepreneurship (IDE)’ Bootcamp for principals and teachers of PM SHRI Schools held at Presidency University, he said, “Teachers should move away from rote learning and help students learn through curiosity, experiments, and real-life examples.”
The IDE Bootcamp aims to give PM SHRI school principals and teachers practical training in design thinking, innovative teaching methods, entrepreneurship basics and problem-solving skills. This will help them create a culture of innovation in their schools.
The programme supports the PM SHRI Schools mission and highlights the important role of teachers in building a future-ready education system, and it was part of a national initiative held at eight centres in six States across the country.
