The Cyberabad police has imposed a blanket ban on flying drones, para-gliders and micro-light aircraft within a 10-kilometre radius of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad.
The order, issued by Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, will remain in force from May 10 to June 9. The official clarified that despite the mutual agreement between India and Pakistan for immediate ceasefire, the orders will remain in effect to prevent potential threats.
This comes a day after the authorities received an anonymous hoax bomb threat on Friday, leading to checking by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, local police and bomb squad. The order stated that any violations will attract legal action under relevant sections.
The Hyderabad Commissionerate issued a similar order later in the day, which will remain in effect until further orders.
