The biographical drama is competing in the Best TV Movie/Mini-Series category, while Dosanjh himself is in contention for Best Performance by an Actor. This year, Diljit competes against actors including David Mitchell, Oriol Pla, and Diego Vasquez, making the category one of the most anticipated. His nomination signals growing international recognition for Indian cinema and highlights how regional stories are resonating with global audiences.The nominations were officially revealed on September 25 via the International Emmys website, after which Dosanjh shared his gratitude on Instagram. Keeping his reaction modest, the actor-singer credited his director. He wrote, “It’s all because of Imtiaz Ali Sir.” His heartfelt post drew an outpouring of congratulations from fans and industry peers, many celebrating the global recognition of Punjabi storytelling.
