“The State government’s minority appeasement policy and inefficient administration are nurturing traitors across Karnataka,” BJP State president B.Y. Vijayendra said in Yellapur on Sunday.
“The Congress government came to power in the State due to the failure of the previous BJP government. But this Siddaramaiah-led government is dysfunctional. The Congress government is nurturing traitors,” he told reporters at a private hotel in Yellapur.
He later met the Bansode family whose member was killed on Saturday.
“I have come here after skipping an important programme organised by the Devanga Samaj in Bengaluru only because I realise the seriousness of this case. The inhuman act committed against a Dalit woman in broad daylight must be condemned,” he said.

“The people are tired of minority appeasement and inaction of the State government. We will work towards strengthening the party based on the principle of unity and ensuring that all leaders leave behind petty animosities. We are confident that the people will support us in all the upcoming elections,” he said.
He said that he will tour all districts to prepare the party for the zilla panchayat and taluk panchayat elections.
To a query, he said that there is no exclusive definition for Love Jihad.
“In some States like Kerala, and also Kashmir, vested interests are keeping youth away from the mainstream. Some are engaging in the deliberate act of suppressing Hindus through Love Jihad. However, in Yellapur, I congratulate members of various Hindutva organisations as they are creating awareness against such things,” he said.
He announced that the party’s State unit spokesperson Hariprakash Choromane has decided to support the murder victim’s 10-year-old son’s education.
BJP district president N.S. Hegde, MLC Shantaram Siddi, leaders Nagaraja Nayak, K.G. Nayak, Guruprasad Hegde, Prasad Hegde and others were present.
