Chittoor MP Daggumalla Prasada Rao reiterated his vision to bring development to the SC/ST colonies in the Chittoor Lok Sabha constituency. He was on a visit to the Gangadhara Nellore and Puthalapattu Assembly constituencies in the district on Wednesday.
“Social welfare, infrastructure, and agricultural advancement are high on the agenda,” he said, appealing to the local leaders to identify the problem areas in their respective regions and bring it to the notice of the government officials, particularly by utilising the grievance cells.
Addressing a public gathering at Gundlapalle village of Irala mandal in Puthalapattu constituency, the MP, along with Puthalapattu MLA Kalikiri Muralimohan, said that the ongoing efforts to bring in a Mango Board on the lines of the Tobacco Board to support the mango farmers of Rayalaseema region had been intensified with the Centre.
“I shall continue to pursue the issue with the Centre till the Mango Board is established. I have also urged the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to respond positively to procure mango pulp to support the farmers of Chittoor and Tirupati districts,” Mr. Prasada Rao said. He said a comprehensive action plan is under way to give a boost to the agriculture and horticulture sector in the district.
Earlier, the MP inaugurated infrastructure projects, which included CC roads, gravel roads, and compound walls for the anganwadi centres in in Puthalapatatu constituency. He said that strengthening the rural areas with essential facilities remained a key factor for sustainable progress.
Mr. Prasada Rao said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision of balanced development and welfare would auger well for the State in the long run. He underlined the importance of leveraging Central government schemes to bolster community upliftment.
The MP also inaugurated a new bus shelter at Thotavaripalle village near Puthalapattu. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chittoor Parliamentary constituency president C.R. Rajan and officials of various government departments from the Puthalapattu constituency were present.
