Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday (April 07) expressed happiness over the State securing the second position in the country in terms of economic growth.
He said that Andhra Pradesh Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at Current Prices recorded a growth rate of 12.02% in 2024-25 Financial Year, against 8.6% in 2023-24 FY. He predicted that the State would achieve a GSDP growth rate of 16.28% by 2028-29 Financial Year.
The GSDP is ₹15,93,062 crore for 2024-25 FY, whereas it was ₹14,22,094 crore in 2023-24 FY, he explained.
The per capita GSDP in the State is ₹2,98,058 during the 2024-25 FY, which was just ₹2,66,995 in 2023-24 FY.
On the other hand, the Gross Value Added (GVA) achieved by the State is ₹14,69,914 crore with a growth of 11.73% during 2024-25 FY against ₹13,15, 589 crore with growth of 7.2% in 2023-24 FY.
Explaining about the sub-sectoral GVA growth, Chief Minister said Livestock emerged as the top gainer by contributing to 11.42% of overall GVA, followed by Horticulture which contributed 10.41%, Manufacturing contributed 10.26%.
Lauding the Finance and Planning Departments for their efforts, he congratulated Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, Principal Secretary Finance Piyush Kumar, and senior officials for bringing the State’s economy back on track within 10 months of governance.
The Chief Minister held a special meeting with senior bureaucrats from the Finance and Planning departments at the State Secretariat to commend their performance. Though Finance Minister Keshav could not attend the meeting due to his district tour, Mr. Piyush Kumar, and other top officials met the Chief Minister and received his appreciation. As a token of gratitude, CM Naidu presented Araku Coffee gift packs to the officials.
